HONESTY: A “DON’T PLAGIARISE”
GUIDE FOR HISTORY STUDENTS Please view the following online
Powerpoint on the characteristics of
plagiarism. http://www.accessola.com/data/6/rec_docs/129_acad_honesty_student.ppt Now try this
activity: http://library.acadiau.ca/tutorials/plagiarism/ At this point, it should be clear
what constitutes plagiarism and what does not. You should also know how to
document sources correctly and have resources for documenting research
done in this course. The
sites below are excellent resources in how to properly document and avoid
plagiarism. http://www.accessola.com/data/6/rec_docs/131_ah_res_students.pdf http://www.dianahacker.com/resdoc/history.html It is expected that students at
CHCI shall be honest in their academic work, which includes the
acknowledgement of sources.
In my classes deliberate plagiarism shall be cause for a grade of
zero on the assignment and reporting to the appropriate vice-principal as
well as to your parent/guardian.
Just do it—document!! |
